Hughley was arrested by the University of Georgia Police Department, while Mondon was arrested by a non-university law enforcement agency on charges of highway and street racing.

Hughley, 19, was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of failure to maintain lane, improper roadway operation and reckless driving.

Mondon, 21, was arrested Wednesday on charges of reckless driving and racing, but both were released on $26 bail.

This is just the latest of numerous driving-related arrests involving Bulldogs players, including former Florida transfer and projected starting running back Trevor Etienne.

Etienne was charged with DUI after drinking three beers, but took a plea deal that waived that portion of the charge. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Georgia saw four driving-related arrests during the offseason.

Their star defensive lineman, Jalen Carter, was involved in a fatal accident on Jan. 15, 2023, that killed Devin Willock in Paramus, New Jersey.

Carter turned himself in in March after being charged with reckless driving.

He denied taking part in the race after the incident and later accepted a plea deal.

The long list of issues surrounding Georgia players’ driving habits has been exacerbated by the fact that their total number of car accidents has risen to 20.

The latest problem for Georgia could prove costly as Mondon is expected to start for his country.

He was second on the team in tackles last season and was named to the All-SEC second team.

Hughley redshirted his freshman season and then missed most of Georgia’s spring practice due to injury, but signed with the Bulldogs for 2023 as one of the top offensive tackle prospects in his class.
