A Pakistani national has been charged with “soliciting murder” in connection with an Iranian plot to assassinate former President Donald Trump.
According to the detention memo, a 46-year-old man named Asif Merchant spent time in Iran before flying from Pakistan to the United States to recruit hit men, but the person he contacted was a confidential informant working for the FBI.
Sara Gonzalez The producers of “Sara Gonzalez Unfiltered” don’t believe the FBI is telling the American people the truth.
“The interesting thing is, can they now find people who want to assassinate Donald Trump? Can they now root this out? And how interesting is it that he stumbled upon this FBI source? What are the chances?” Gonzalez says.
Jason Buttrill, a senior fellow at Glenn Beck and a former Pentagon intelligence analyst, also has some questions.
“There have been assassination threats from Iran against Donald Trump ever since Soleimani was killed. Since then, there has been an increased Secret Service presence around Trump and it should have been significantly strengthened,” Buttrill said.
“There are questions from a whole other direction,” he continued. “They say he put this plan into motion and was planning to leave the country just before the attack happened.”
“Well, he was arrested on the 12th. What happened on the 13th?” Buttrill asked, adding, “That seems suspicious.”
