‘SNL’ cast cheekily praises Trump in first post-election cold open

The cast of Saturday Night Live cheekily pledged their allegiance to President-elect Donald Trump, claiming they all voted for him in the first cold open since Tuesday's historic election.

In the skit, the cast solemnly discusses how Trump's victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris would be “shocking” and “terrifying” to many of the show's liberal viewers. It started with that.

Trump also said he may seek “vengeance” against political opponents, with longtime star Kenan Thompson saying, “We at SNL want to say to Donald Trump: We are with you forever. It was,” he said.

“We never wavered in our support for you, even when others doubted you,” Bowen Yang says wryly, with each member of the main cast expressing how much they love the president-elect. They talked about how much they love each other and how they will continue to love them.

“Weekend Update” anchor Colin Jost said fellow anchor Michael Che is the only one who opposes President Trump.

“I hate the way Michael Che in the downstream media circulates articles to make you look stupid,” he said.
