‘SNL’ Cold Open features Trump, Harris teams competing in ‘Family Feud’

This week's 'Saturday Night Live' cold open featured former President Trump's team facing each other He competed against Vice President Harris' team on “Family Feud.”

In a play on the ongoing conversation about whether a second presidential debate will be held before Election Day, the actors took to the stage with host Steve Harvey, played by Kenan Thompson.

Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, and Harris, played by Maya Rudolph, joined them on the podium to compete.

“I'm telling you Steve, she's going to be terrible in this match. She's a very low IQ person. The whole world is laughing at her because they looked up to me.” Because I don't respect her like that,” Johnson said, pointing to President Trump's recent comments about Harris' intellectual abilities.

Mr. Thompson asked candidates to name what they keep in their glove compartments. Rudolph grumbles in and starts talking about being raised by his mother in a middle-class family, a line Harris often uses on the campaign trail.

As Rudolph continued speaking, Thompson pressed her with a question about the glove compartment. She said she has a “big ol' Glock.” Harris said in an interview last week that he owns a Glock and has fired it at a shooting range.

Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minnesota), Harris' running mate, played by Jim Gaffigan, said, “I keep warm hands, Runza napkins, and Tams in case I eat something spicy like tomatoes.'' ” he said. Thompson said it was “white nonsense” and the answer never made it to the committee.

Dana Carvey mixed up which TV game show he was on in a joke about President Biden's age.

When handed over to Republicans, President Trump's running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), played by Bowen Yang, and Trump's son Eric Trump, played by Mikey Day, were told they could not speak. said.

Mr. Johnson, like Mr. Trump, has never ridden in the front seat of a car, so he said the glove compartment question was highly unfair.

In typical Trump fashion, Mr. Johnson rambled on about immigration and China, demanding answers. “Show me the dementia,” Thompson said, but the answer didn’t lead to results.

Saturday Night Live recently began its 50th season and is already diving deep into political references as Election Day approaches.
