Search for Missing Woman in Koreatown
Jimmy Fowley, a writer for SNL, is reaching out for help as the search continues for his sister, Christina Lynn Downer, who has gone missing in Koreatown, Los Angeles.
“My sister is still missing. This is not like her. She has never been this off the grid,” he shared on Instagram late Sunday.
The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that the investigation into Downer’s disappearance is active. However, no new updates have emerged at this time. Authorities are diligently pursuing leads and requesting search warrants as part of their ongoing efforts.
Downer, who is 38 years old, was last seen in her Koreatown neighborhood. According to her brother, she stands at 5-foot-1, has black hair, and brown eyes. The last time Fowley heard from her was on November 26.
He also mentioned how unusual it is for her to be without her miniature pinscher, Rex, stating, “If he sees her, he will probably be with her.”
This case has drawn attention from various figures within the entertainment industry, with actors and comedians amplifying Fowley’s messages, sharing missing person flyers, and encouraging their followers to help spread awareness.
Among those showing support is actor Evan Williams, who expressed: “Sending her love so she can be safely reunited with you and your family, brother.” Reality star Scheana Shay offered her encouragement through a simple praying hands emoji.
There’s also some confusion stemming from Downer’s social media interactions. An Instagram post dated December 14 indicated she was “living peacefully” and encouraged followers to send her holiday treats, raising eyebrows since she had already been reported missing by that time.
Followers have pointed out that the December 14 post seems like a repost of an older story highlight from June, which suggests it may not be a recent update. It’s uncertain whether Downer made the post herself or if someone else did so on her behalf. Fowley noted that detectives have advised the family to withhold certain details to avoid jeopardizing the investigation.
The family is cooperating closely with the police, offering assistance in search efforts, and maintaining ongoing communication with detectives. Fowley expressed gratitude to those who have spread the word about his sister’s situation and mentioned that he would provide updates as they become available.
Anyone with information regarding Christina Lynn Downer’s whereabouts is urged to contact the LAPD Missing Persons Unit at (213) 996-1800.
