Warriors Coach Ejected During Game Against Clippers
Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, was ejected during the fourth quarter of a game against the Los Angeles Clippers this past Monday night.
Kerr appeared frustrated after Clippers player John Collins was not called for goaltending. This led to back-to-back technical fouls, which resulted in his automatic ejection from the game.
The 60-year-old coach crossed onto the court in an attempt to confront the umpire, yelling as his assistants and players, Gary Payton II and Gio Santos, tried to hold him back.
Things got interesting when Snoop Dogg unexpectedly provided entertaining commentary during the incident. “Oh, Steve’s getting kicked out!” the rapper exclaimed. “Get him out of there! Back him up! Steve goes back to Inglewood right now!” Snoop, who was calling the game at the new Intuit Dome, added, “Arizona Wildcat is here. Look!”
This wasn’t Snoop Dogg’s debut as a sports commentator. He had previously provided commentary for the exhibition fight between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which also included an undercard bout of Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson.
Kerr’s ejection was notable, particularly as it occurred just two nights after Draymond Green was ejected for the 24th time in his career—Kerr himself has now been ejected seven times.
In a lighter moment, assistant coach Terry Stotts joked after the game that he stood in for Kerr at the podium to “save Steve money,” alluding to possible fines for critiquing officiating.
