Snoop Dogg Withdraws Days Before Performance After Promoter Allegedly Found Guilty Of Sexual Assault

Snoop Dogg Cancels New Zealand Concert

Snoop Dogg has canceled his upcoming concert in New Zealand, which was scheduled for Saturday, after learning about the troubling past of a local promoter. Just three days before the event, he decided to pull out when it was revealed that promoter Pato Alvarez had been convicted of sexual assault.

Reports indicate that Alvarez is facing 25 charges involving nine women. In 2023, he was convicted of indecent assault, and there’s also been controversy regarding an attempted sexual relationship with his child’s babysitter, as noted by a local news outlet.

The cancellation comes a week after Alvarez was anonymously accused of sexual assault, without revealing his identity at that time. He had previously claimed that Snoop’s team was eager to reach out and confirm the performance, but it seems that situation changed quickly.

Alvarez attempted to keep his name private, but New Zealand’s Supreme Court rejected his request earlier this month, according to the New Zealand Herald.

4 Word Entertainment, the promoting group, confirmed the concert’s cancellation via Instagram. They mentioned, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, Snoop Dogg will no longer be performing in Auckland this weekend.” They expressed regret over the disappointment for fans looking forward to the show.

They added that all refunds would be processed automatically and could take a few days, depending on the bank.

Interestingly, Snoop Dogg hasn’t made any public statements regarding this cancellation as of now.
