Snow globe stifled Steelers, Browns, and Al Michaels on ‘Thursday Night Football’

of pittsburgh steelers visited cleveland browns Thursday night's pre-game weather forecast called for rain and temperatures in the 40s at the start of the game, dropping through the night. The weather was nice at kickoff, but in the second half the weather started to deteriorate.

Late in the second quarter, around 9:00 pm ET, snow began to fall. It was just a few flakes. No big deal.

By the start of the third quarter, it was difficult to see the field. The field was covered during the period.

Things got so bad that announcer Al Michaels began misidentifying players on drives, calling Browns tight end Blake Whitehart by David Njoku's name before correcting him. He also cracked jokes through Flake.

  • “Everything is here except the Zamboni.”
  • “Welcome to the Winter Olympics.”
  • “Boswell's kick is good if you can find it.”

The Prime Video team reported that players replaced their cleats and switched to artificial hashmarks and yardage markers for streaming broadcasts, using technology to assist viewers.

The visuals were perfect for the first snow game of the 2024 season.
