Jorginho Frero Addresses Recent Misunderstanding

Jorginho Frero, the well-known soccer player, recently took the time to clarify what he now sees as a “misunderstanding” following a match. This comes after an incident involving pop star Chapel Lawn, which reportedly upset his 11-year-old daughter.

A month ago, Frero criticized the singer on social media, alleging that members of his security team had caused distress for his daughter during their stay at a hotel in Brazil. His wife, Catherine, and their daughter encountered the singer, which led to an uncomfortable moment.

On Monday, Frero expressed a desire to “set the record straight,” indicating that he has come to realize that perspectives can change over time. He mentioned that he understands things may not always appear as they initially did.

In his statement, he shared, “After I learned that my family was approached in what felt like an intimidating way by a security guard, I reacted as any protective father would. My family’s safety is my utmost priority, which prompted my initial comments.”

He further clarified that the events he described did indeed take place, grounded in the information available to him at the time. However, he added that new details have come to light. Chapel Lawn had issued her own statement and reached out to Catherine privately, noting she wasn’t aware of the incident during breakfast and hadn’t directed anyone to approach them. She expressed sympathy regarding the situation that affected their child.

Frero’s wife and daughter had reported that during breakfast, when the girl tried to confirm if the singer was indeed present, the encounter ended with the singer smiling and returning to her mother. Following that, a security guard approached them aggressively, warning them not to “disparage” or “harass” anyone.

The original post generated considerable public attention and backlash. In a follow-up, Chapel Lawn addressed the matter through an Instagram video, clarifying that the individual who approached Frero’s family was not part of her security team. The security guard, Pascal Duvier, also stated that he was at the hotel for another individual and had no direct connection to the singer’s security.

Frero stated, “We still don’t understand why he chose to approach them, and frankly, an 11-year-old at breakfast hardly seems to pose a threat. It’s now clear he wasn’t acting on behalf of Chapel.” He reiterated that this situation stemmed from a misunderstanding and conveyed his regret for any negative effects on Chapel Lawn, Catherine, Ada, and their family.

“I will always stand up for my family, but I’ve come to recognize that perceptions can be misleading,” he concluded.

This update from Frero coincided with Roan’s first public appearance since the incident, where she was spotted at Coachella in Indio, California.
