Social Security benefits are usually paid starting on the second Wednesday of each month. The remaining two payments are paid on the next two Wednesdays of each month. Which week you receive your payment depends on your date of birth, with one major exception, which we'll explain below.
date of birth: | Social Security Check Date |

1st and 10th | Every second Wednesday of the month |
11th and 20th | Every 3rd Wednesday of the month |
21st and 31st | Every 4th Wednesday of the month |
Will I receive other government benefits on the same day?
If you received Social Security benefits before May 1997, or if you receive both Social Security benefits and Supplemental Security Income, your payment schedule is not determined by your date of birth. Instead, payments are made on the same day each month, with a few exceptions that are explained below.

Social Security benefits are paid on the 3rd of each month, while SSI benefits are paid on the 1st of each month. These dates can change if the 1st or 3rd of the month falls on a weekend or holiday. For example, because March 3 fell on a weekend, Social Security recipients received their March benefits two days early, on March 1. The same happens in November.
The only benefits paid on the same schedule are Social Security and Social Security Disability Insurance.
