Solana Founder Warns Against "ETH Killer" Narrative – CoinGape

Solana founder Anatoly Yakovenko posted on the X app to warn the public about a cold war brewing between Ethereum (ETH) and other protocols, including Solana (SOL), commonly referred to as the “ETH killer.”

SOL and ETH can coexist

In Yakovenko’s opinion, imposing such a narrative on Ethereum is unfair because it harms the ecosystem. He suggested that the protocols could coexist without challenges or threats to kill each other.

“Pareto efficient technologies have overlapping capabilities and may conflict, and that’s okay. I can’t imagine a future where Solana thrives and then disappears for some reason,” Solana’s co-founders said. Told.

Additionally, Anatoly expressed optimism for a future in which blockchain technology, known as dank sharding, which allows the addition of blocks at low cost, will have enough bandwidth to handle all of Solana’s data. To put it in perspective, danksharding is a rollup scaling technique for Ethereum that scales transaction throughput by providing additional storage space to rollup transactions.

Yakovenko’s statement regarding Ethereum highlights the fact that SOL and ETH can coexist and even overlap without any disadvantages.

Solana founder attacks ETH rivalry

Despite the industry mourning Solana, Yakovenko warned community members not to incite unhealthy competition. Uses the Ethereum protocol.

This was when MakerDAO co-founder and CEO Rune Christensen announced plans to fork the protocol NewChain off Ethereum and onto the Solana blockchain. The news sparked a reaction from Solana supporters who see the transition as the best fight.

Yakovenko was quick to point out that this is an overall victory for open source. “I sincerely hope that people in the Solana community don’t use this as a cudgel to attack Ethereum,” he said at the time.

In October, one of the Ethereum community members identified as jebus.eth tried to attack Solana. He calls it “a coalition of poor and wealthy people who don’t understand where value actually comes from or how to create value, but just want what they want to be cheap.”

However, Solana’s co-founders were quick to respond to him, highlighting the fact that his protocol seeks a completely stateless digital realm, where unimpeded communication and transactions are possible between people. He emphasized that it flows freely among people and is free from the control of capitalist intermediaries and governments. Surveillance.
