Some Dems Won’t Make Any Changes to Make Medicaid More Efficient

On Thursday's “CNN News Central,” Senator Seth Moulton (D-MA) said he believes there are acceptable changes to Medicaid, saying, “There are Democrats who say they can't touch on this. I've always been the champion of modernised government.”

Co-host Kate Bolduan asked: “But Congressmen are finding efficiency by eliminating waste, fraud and abuse. Do you think the efficiencies of their qualification programs are increasing? Put another way, did you say that changes and reforms to Medicaid are OK?”

Moulton replied. “Absolutely. And I'm not afraid to say it as a Democrat. There are Democrats who say you can't touch on this. I've always been the champion of modernizing government. In fact, I've signed the Social Security 2100 Act, which ensures that Social Security can survive and that it's not for me and my kids, not just for the parents who use it now. So, reforms to these programs, but there's no need to cut down the benefits of Americans being dependent on them now. And that's what has to do with these massive cuts for Republicans to pay for billionaires' tax cuts.”
