The Pennsylvania Senate race was finally called when Democrat Bob Casey admitted that Democrats were trying to count undated or incorrectly dated ballots. Fortunately, the Supreme Court sided with the RNC.
But how can we prevent this from happening to voting in federal elections in the future?
“What we need is a voter's electoral integrity bill of rights. These crazy laws are actually violating people's right to vote when they go to the polls, so let's do it right.” Cleta Mitchell, senior legal fellow at the Conservative Party Partnership Institute, said: Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson of Blaze News Tonight.
“There are a lot of principles like the one we’re putting together that need to apply to both federal and state law,” she continues. “Only citizens vote, with voter ID on every type of ballot, ensuring all ballots are received by the polls deadline on Election Day, and being transparent and accountable. ”
“This situation needs to be rectified. It's long past time for that to happen,” she added.
Illinois is one of the states that has pushed the envelope when it comes to election integrity, allowing mail-in ballots to be counted for up to 14 days after the election.
“Do you think this is an issue that the Supreme Court or the courts may not ultimately decide in the right direction? It seems like a very bad thing, but now people are trying to figure out what's wrong with our corrupt system. So they're used to receiving emails after the fact,” Peterson said.
“Judicial Watch has litigated cases in both Illinois and Mississippi, where the Fifth Circuit has ruled that accepting ballots after polls close on Election Day violates federal law,” Mitchell said. He responded.
“I think one of the things we have to do is say that when we vote as a country, it starts and ends almost at the same time,” she continued. “Some accommodations may need to be made to allow people going out of state to vote early and in person.”
“I think we need to get rid of this universal voting by mail, this universal thing of sending ballots to people whether they requested it or not,” she added.
