An Alabama judge remains hospitalized and his son is in custody after being shot over the weekend, authorities announced Monday.
Montgomery County Judge Johnny Hardwick, presiding judge of the 15th Judicial Circuit, underwent surgery following Saturday’s shooting.

Hardwick, 36, fled the home, was later found on the highway and arrested without incident in connection with the attack, the sheriff said.
