Son of Mango founder heard sobbing in 911 call during homicide inquiry

Son of Mango founder arrested in Spain following father's cliff accident

New Developments in Billionaire Fashion Mogul’s Death

A 911 call made public recently reveals the distressing moments when Jonathan Andic, the son of a wealthy fashion entrepreneur, reported that his father had fallen. In a tearful plea, Jonathan said, “My dad has fallen and I need help!” The call occurred after Isaac Andic, a prominent figure in the clothing industry, reportedly fell into a ravine while hiking near Barcelona.

During the call, Jonathan expressed urgency, stating they were in Colvato and requested an ambulance. He added, “I can’t see him, he won’t answer.” Isaac Andic, 71, died in December 2024 after he fell from a 500-foot cliff, and Jonathan was the only person with him at that time. Subsequently, he was arrested after authorities reopened the case to investigate it further for potential homicide.

This phone call, recorded during that distressing moment, is now seen as a crucial element in Jonathan’s defense. He continued to convey desperation during the call, saying that he couldn’t locate his father and that he wasn’t responding.

After his father’s passing, Jonathan and his siblings assumed control of the family’s fashion empire. Recently, he was released on bail amounting to €1 million, under the condition that he remains in Spain while the investigation continues. His family insists on his innocence, firmly believing that there’s no legitimate evidence against him.

Initially viewed as an accident, the nature of Isaac Andic’s death has evolved, leading to the investigation being treated as a possible murder case. The Andic family has defiantly stated that they expect no valid evidence will ever surface against Jonathan.

Isaac Andic, recognized as a leading figure in the fashion industry, founded Mango in 1984 after moving to Spain from Istanbul. By the time of his death, he had built the brand into a significant competitor to Zara, with operations in over 100 countries and a net worth estimated at $4.5 billion.

Jonathan, now Vice Chairman of Mango’s Board, continues to navigate this challenging situation amidst the unfolding investigation.
