Son said he wasn’t home when mom jumped

A Queens woman was seriously injured after jumping from a third-story window to escape her troubled knife-wielding son, police said. She said she was so scared of her son that she began secretly knocking on neighbors' doors to warn them of her danger. said a resident of the building.

Police said Saturday that the 64-year-old victim, who has not been publicly identified, had a protective order in place against her son at the time of the horrifying behavior, and neighbors said there was a long history of contention between the two. He talked about his long career.

Neighbors said the son had mental health issues and it was not unusual for the couple to yell at each other.

The woman added that when her mother became frightened, she sent a distress call to a neighbor who called 911.

“A neighbor heard her knocking and called 911,” said the resident, who requested anonymity. “She said she saw [the mom] go out [the window]”

She was found face down on the ground outside her Shore Boulevard apartment around 9 p.m. Friday, police and neighbors said.

The mother suffered multiple fractures, including to her leg, and other injuries, including a brain bleed, her daughter told the Post.

“My mother is in stable condition but will need surgery. Doctors said it was too early to tell, but she has not only broken her leg, but also broken her femur, leg, shoulder and face. “He suffered multiple fractures,” the daughter said. “She has internal bleeding in her stomach. She had a brain bleed, but they treated her.”

“I'm in a state of shock,” he said. “I heard it from miles away. I'm surprised, surprised it happened to her.”

“I heard she fell, but I don't know if it was a hard fall, just a few seconds, or a big fall,” he said. “Someone said she just broke her leg. Someone said she was in a coma. She got a protection order against me so I don't know what happened to her. I don’t know exactly.”

He denied being at home when his mother was injured.

“Maybe he was there a few days ago, but he wasn't there at the time of the alleged incident,” he said.
