Sony has officially entered the electric vehicle (EV) market with its new model “Afeela 1”. Developed in partnership with Honda, this innovative vehicle aims to redefine the driving experience by integrating advanced technology and entertainment features. Powered by a powerful 482-horsepower all-wheel-drive powertrain, the Afeela 1 features a 91 kWh battery that provides an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles. It supports 150 kW fast charging and is compatible with Tesla's Supercharger network, making it convenient for long-distance trips.

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
Afeela 1 is packed with 40 sensors and cameras to enable Level 2+ ADAS functionality. These systems include LIDAR assistance for tasks such as automated parking and real-time environmental monitoring. The vehicle's AI processing power allows it to perform up to 800 trillion operations per second, paving the way for future updates that could enhance self-driving capabilities.

Sony is focused on creating an interactive experience within Afeela 1. The features of this car are:

The Afeela 1 comes in two trims, the Origin starting at $89,900 and the Signature starting at $102,900. Pre-orders are currently available only to California residents and require a refundable reservation fee of $200. The Signature version is expected to ship in mid-2026 and the Origin in 2027.
