Caitlyn Jenner’s close friend and manager, Sophia Hutchins, tragically lost her life in an ATV accident in Malibu, California. She was only 29 years old.
The incident occurred near Jenner’s Malibu condo, valued at $3.5 million, where Hutchins reportedly collided with the bumper of a moving car on Wednesday morning, according to reports.
The force of the collision caused both Hutchins and her ATV to tumble down a hillside, a distance of about 350 feet from the road, authorities shared with media sources.
Emergency workers pronounced her dead at the scene, and thankfully, no one else sustained injuries.
At the time of the accident, it was unclear where the 75-year-old Jenner was located.
Hutchins and Jenner met back in 2015, introduced by a hairstylist during Jenner’s transition journey. Hutchins, also a transgender woman, appeared in various episodes of the reality series “I Am Cait.”
In 2017, Hutchins moved in with Jenner and took on the role of her manager.
Since then, the pair have become nearly inseparable, attending family events with the Kardashian clan together.
The depth of their friendship often led to speculation regarding a romantic relationship, which both have consistently denied. Hutchins once expressed that their bond was more akin to family, saying that it felt almost parental at times, especially when it came to her dating life.
She clarified in previous interviews that their connection was strictly platonic, citing a strong friendship as the foundation of their relationship.
Hutchins did gain some familiarity with the Kardashian-Jenner family dynamics, having made public appearances alongside Jenner, including a notable ad campaign for Kim Kardashian’s Skims brand.
Born on April 1, 1996, in Bellevue, Washington, Hutchins graduated with a degree in economics and finance from Pepperdine University in 2019. Notably, she stepped down as class president during her junior year to focus on her gender transition, motivated by Jenner’s personal story shared in a 20/20 interview.
Additionally, Hutchins was an entrepreneur, launching a sunscreen company called Lumasol SPF. She was also the former CEO and director of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation, which supports LGBTQ individuals.
