Sophie Cunningham is puzzled by Angel Reese's taunting of her NBA ex in the 'playoffs love triangle'.

Guard Sophie Cunningham of the Indiana Fever chimed in on the recent drama surrounding Angel Reese, a standout player for the Atlanta Dream, during a Tuesday podcast episode of “Show Me Something.” She discussed the “NBA Playoff Love Triangle” that unfolded as Reese’s current boyfriend, Wendell Carter Jr. of the Orlando Magic, and her ex-boyfriend, Jalen Duren of the Pistons, faced off in the first round of the playoffs, showing remarkable support for one another.

Earlier, Reese sparked a stir on NBA Twitter when she re-shared a clip of Carter dunking on Duren to her Instagram Story.

“Something definitely happened there. I can’t say for sure, but it felt like she wanted to catch him off guard,” Cunningham speculated.

Co-host West Wilson, who’s also caught up in a public cheating controversy, chimed in, suggesting that something must have pushed them to act the way they did, otherwise, it wouldn’t have escalated like this.

Cunningham further advised, “Maybe it’s time to refocus on your current boyfriend instead.”

Wilson expressed concern for Duren, mentioning that his performance seemed to have declined during the series. The Pistons center averaged 19.5 points in the regular season but saw that number fall to 10.6 points across eight postseason games.

Surprisingly, Detroit managed to come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the series.

It appears Reese and Carter maintain a level of privacy regarding their relationship, while Duren and Reese are rumored to have plans to potentially reunite in the summer of 2024, sparked by a shared social media post hinting at a vacation together.

The episode description of “Show Me Something” notes, “A complicated NBA tale involving Angel Reese, her ex Jaylen Duren, and her current boyfriend Wendell Carter Jr. — they quite literally protect each other in a playoff series.”
