Sophie Turner Reflects on Unique Kissing Scene with Kit Harrington
Sophie Turner recently described a surprising experience while filming for the upcoming horror movie “The Dreadful,” where she ended up kissing her former “Game of Thrones” co-star, Kit Harrington. The duo, who played siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow from 2011 to 2019, developed a close friendship that went beyond the screen.
Turner had initially recommended Harrington for the lead role in “The Fearful.” He responded, however, with concerns about the potentially awkward filming process.
“I sent the script to Kit, and he replied, ‘Yeah, I want this, but it’s going to be really weird,'” she shared during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” “At first, I didn’t get it, but as I read through the script, I realized it included lines like ‘kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex…’ and I thought, ‘Oh, we’re filming that with my brother.’”
Despite their apprehensions, both actors ultimately felt they had to embrace the project, acknowledging that they couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Turner recalled that it was both their first kiss scene and that it felt a bit mean, joking, “Honestly, it was the worst.”
Beginning her career at age 12 with “Game of Thrones,” Turner was just 23 when the series wrapped. She spoke fondly of her time on set, calling it the “best acting class” with talented actors like Harrington, Emilia Clarke, and Peter Dinklage. “I didn’t have formal training before, so learning from them felt like winning a competition,” she noted. “By the end of it, my character and I felt like we had become one.” Overall, Turner described the whole experience as amazing, emphasizing the sense of family among the cast.
