Sophie Turner Prepares for Lara Croft Role

Sophie Turner has been putting in serious effort at the gym. On Thursday, Prime Video shared a sneak peek of her as Lara Croft in the upcoming live-action series “Tomb Raider,” which is currently in the works.

“Oh my god… she looks just like she stepped out of the game,” one fan remarked on social media.

Turner’s Rigorous Training for “Tomb Raider”

Turner has been training “eight hours a day, five days a week” for this demanding role. Some viewers have joked about how impressive she looks as Lara Croft, saying they believe the Prime Video adaptation will be fantastic. It’s hard not to be amazed by her transformation.

“Wow! She looks incredible! I didn’t think she could pull off such a classic look!” another user commented on Instagram.

The first glimpse was revealed during Sophie’s appearance on SiriusXM’s Julia Cunningham Show.

Turner’s Training Journey

During her chat, she made a surprising confession regarding her fitness journey. “It’s been tough because I’ve been training eight hours a day, five days a week since February last year,” Turner said. The progress hasn’t been easy, she’s learned quite a bit about her body along the way.

When asked about the most surprising things she discovered about her body during this intense training, she shared, “I found out I have permanent back problems, but I also realized that it’s much easier to build certain muscles if you have experience working out. I had never trained before, so it took months to get into shape.” It’s quite the learning experience for her.

When asked if her time on “Game of Thrones” prepared her for this role, Turner responded, “Not really. I was more of a regal character back then. I was often on the receiving end of punches, not throwing them. It’s a whole different ball game to actually learn how to throw a punch.” It seems her experience in a completely different setting gave her perspective but not the physical readiness she needed for Lara Croft.
