‘Sopranos’ star says Hollywood will ‘take me out into the woods and shoot me’ over criticism of Biden

Emmy Award-winning actress Drea de Matteo believes there are many “quiet” Donald Trump supporters in Hollywood who are afraid to publicly support the Republican candidate or criticize the current administration.

During an interview on “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Monday, De Matteo, who rose to fame on HBO’s “The Sopranos,” described himself as an “outcast” in Hollywood for expressing his skepticism about President Biden.

‘Sopranos’ star says many celebrities oppose Biden’s policies but are ‘scared’

“[In the] “The Sopranos … we were critically acclaimed but we were pariahs. I’m still a pariah. Here I am, and they’re trying to take me out into the woods and shoot me because I didn’t support Biden,” she said, referring to the death of Adriana La Cerva, her character in the mafia drama.

When asked if he thought there were “quiet” Trump supporters in Hollywood, De Matteo replied: “I think there are a lot of them.”

“There are a lot of Trump supporters out there. [Robert F.] Kennedy supporters…” she added.

The actress said she was “embarrassed” by some Italians for playing politics, and criticized Robert De Niro, who publicly criticized Trump outside a Manhattan courtroom during Trump’s criminal trial in New York.

“I’m Italian. [Dr. Anthony] “Mr. Fauci, we’re talking about De Niro. I’m embarrassed by my own people right now. I don’t understand what we’re doing here,” she told Watters.

She also questioned whether De Niro and others were being paid to endorse Biden after Watters aired footage of a star-studded fundraiser in Los Angeles that raised $30 million for Biden’s campaign.

“At this point I’m curious how much these actors were paid to endorse Biden. De Niro went to court for it so I wonder if he was paid for the location,” she said.

De Matteo, who has been a vocal critic of cancel culture, recently said on Donald Trump Jr.’s podcast that he had previously voted for Biden in 2020 based on his sympathy for illegal immigrants, but that the chaos at the border and other factors had caused him to change his mind.

“They should stop using him as a symbol of their policies,” De Matteo said. “He shouldn’t be here. It’s like putting my mother out. She has dementia. It’s sad and it’s inhumane.”
