Sources Say ’15 Occasions’ in Last Year and a Half that Biden Appeared as He Did at Debate

Appearing on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” on Monday, veteran journalist and CNN contributor Carl Bernstein said last week’s debate was not the first time President Joe Biden had missed it.

According to Bernstein, people close to the current president said there were 15 other opportunities.

“Yes, these are people who are very close to President Biden, who love him, who support him, and some of them were among the arsonists who raised a lot of money for him,” he said, “and they are adamant that the Joe Biden we saw the other night was not a one-off, that there have been 15 times over the last year and a half where the president has acted similarly to that horrific show we just witnessed.”

“And the key is, the people who made these statements, and how many people around the president, are aware of these incidents – and, coincidentally, some reporters have seen some of them,” Bernstein continued. “But as these people say tonight, we see President Biden at his very best. And yet these people who support him, who love him, who campaign for him, who meet with him frequently, are telling us that, particularly over the last six months, he has experienced significant cognitive decline and physical impairment.”

Bernstein said many people had raised such concerns with former White House chief of staff and top political adviser Ron Klain but were “repeatedly rebuffed.”
