South Carolina Congressman Suggests Placing Trump on $250 Bill

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) proposed placing President Donald Trump on a $250 bill, adding that it would be “the most valuable bill for the most valuable president.”

in post In X, Wilson revealed that he is “drawing laws directing the sculpture and printing office” to create a new $250 bill featuring Trump.

“We would like to thank you for announcing that we are drafting the law to direct the Sculpture and Printing Bureau to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump,” Wilson wrote in his post. “BidenFlation has destroyed an economy that forces American families to carry more cash. The most valuable bill for the most valuable president!”

According to the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank website, “they may not appear” is a US currency.

I've heard that he's now called the “Dead President.” It has been a long-standing tradition to feature only portraits of individuals who have died in currency and coins to avoid the emergence of monarchies. That tradition became law in the Parliamentary Act of 1866.

Some responded to Wilson's post by questioning whether it was “satisfied,” while others questioned whether the government and lawmakers “have more pressing issues.”

Website The Sculpture Bureau explains that “money denominations over $100 are not available from the Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve, or the Sculpture and Printing Bureau.”

“On July 14, 1969, the Treasury and the Federal Reserve System announced that sect currency notes of $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000 would be immediately suspended due to insufficient use,” according to the website. “They were published until 1969, but last printed in 1945.”
