In their last recruiting class, the South Carolina Gamecocks pulled in an absolute gem with true freshman edge rusher Dylan Stewart, who has sent the college football realm into complete insanity in the 2024 campaign.
When it comes to South Carolina‘s defense, Stewart has been a huge part of their success and why opposing offenses get disrupted over and over again. And with Stewart performing like he is as a freshman, it’s truly impressive, so impressive that the Gamecocks are preparing a large NIL offer to guarantee he stays in Columbia. According to a report from The State’s Jordan Kaye, a source said Dylan Stewart’s team is currently in conversations with both the University of South Carolina and the college’s NIL collective, The Garnet Trust, regarding a one-year deal that will be worth more than seven figures.
This season, Stewart has tallied a stat line of 16 tackles, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. The numbers come after Stewart became the sixth-highest rated recruit in USC history when he committed to the school.
