A South Carolina woman accused of killing her bride on her wedding night in a drunk-driving crash last April has been released from prison less than a year later.
Jamie Komorowski, 26, posted $150,000 bail Friday and was released from the Charleston County Jail at 3:16 p.m., according to jail records.
On April 28, 2023, after the happy newlyweds left their reception, Samantha Miller, 34, was killed when Komorowski, who was driving more than twice the speed limit, rear-ended her golf cart. , the groom, Aric Hutchinson, 36, was seriously injured. “She didn’t just kill my child,” the bride’s mother, Lisa Miller, told the court last year, arguing that Komorowski did not deserve to be released. “She killed us all.”
Jail records say Komorowski will be fitted with a scram ankle monitor. According to its website, the monitor measures the wearer’s alcohol level by sampling sweat every 30 minutes.
According to the New York Post, she will also be forced to surrender her passport, will not be able to drive and will not be allowed to leave her home except for medical emergencies or court cases.
A judge had previously ruled that she could be granted bail if her trial did not start by March this year. Her trial date has not yet been set.

“I want it to include house arrest, ankle monitoring, and a ban on leaving the state,” Miller told the Post. “We all expected her to be tied up for the first time. [last summer] But luckily the judge kept her in custody, and I think it had something to do with our shocking statement. ”

Komorowski’s attorney told the Post, “She is now released from pretrial detention and looks forward to demonstrating a continued commitment to rehabilitation,” adding that she is a flight risk and community member. He added that he was not a danger to society.
Komorowski is charged with three counts of felony DUI causing death and one count of reckless homicide.
On the night of the fatal crash, Komorowski drank “a large amount of alcohol” while bar hopping with friends, the groom alleged in his civil wrongful death lawsuit.

According to an affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital, Komorowski refused to take a field sobriety test and appeared to be “very unsteady on his feet and about to fall.”
“I wish the night would last forever,” Miller told her new husband just before Komorowski allegedly plowed into them with his Toyota Camry.
Hutchinson suffered He suffered from brain hemorrhage, broken bones, and facial fractures, and required multiple surgeries.
