Staley, whose team was congratulated by Harris after winning the national championship in 2024, praised Biden for X.
“Thank you @POTUS @JoeBiden! Well done! Kudos to your historic endorsement of @VP @KamalaHarris!” Staley wrote.
Staley’s support for Biden appears to have weakened since his disastrous debate with former President Trump on June 27.

Staley attended an event for former President Barack Obama earlier this month, calling him “the coolest guy on the planet” in a post on X. But it seems it’s the other Obama who Staley wants to see take over the presidency from January next year.
“@BarackObama, I remain grateful for your inspiration & leadership. Now let me just borrow @MichelleObama for 4 years! The First Gentleman suits you well!” she posted.
Staley has supported Democratic policies and principles, including the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s and girls’ sports.
“My opinion is that women should be able to play. If you identify as a woman and you want to play a sport or vice versa, you should be able to play. That’s my opinion,” Staley said during the March Madness tournament.

When asked if she thought transgender women should be able to play women’s college basketball, Staley replied, “I do.”
