South Lawn of the White House transformed into a Par 3 golf course

Bryson DeChambeau Visits the White House

Bryson DeChambeau, a two-time US Open champion, recently made headlines not just for his impressive golf career, but also for visiting the White House. This visit involved an unusual twist; he actually hit golf balls from the South Lawn, which, I think, is quite a remarkable experience.

DeChambeau earned $80 million solely from his golf winnings, which is, let’s be honest, an incredible sum. During his visit, he was captured on video by Margo Martin, a special assistant at the White House, hitting shots on the practice green. It seemed he turned the expansive grounds into an impromptu par-3 course.

But the golfing didn’t stop there. DeChambeau, who has successfully placed in the top six of five of his last six major tournaments, also had the chance to play with President Donald Trump at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia.

Trump spoke about their games together, mentioning how he considers himself a decent golfer. “I tend to hit pretty long,” he joked, although he conceded that he doesn’t quite match DeChambeau’s prowess at the game. “My wife asks if I’m as long as Bryson, and I’m like, ‘Well, kind of—sort of,’” he said, lightheartedly diminishing the comparison.

This friendship and golfing bond makes their get-togethers a bit special. DeChambeau has shown support for Trump over the years, even joining him on stage during a victory speech after the presidential election. They’ve collaborated on golf-related content as well, appearing together to film material for Liv Golfer’s YouTube channel.

After winning the Open at Pinehurst in 2024, DeChambeau visited Trump National Golf Club once more, this time enjoying some long drives and sipping red wine. Now, that sounds like quite the celebration.
