These teams: Contrary to expectations, Manuel Ugarte and Alejandro Garnacho were on the bench after returning from their international matches in South America and did not feature in the starting line-up, with Christian Eriksen replacing Casemiro in midfield and Amada Diallo also returning to the starting line-up in place of Garnacho.
Manager Russell Martin made four changes to the Southampton players who lost to Brentford last time out, switching to a more back-four-like formation with Leslie Ogochukwu, Matheus Fernandes, Tyler Dibling and Cameron Archer coming into the squad, while Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Joe Aribo and Adam Armstrong were dropped to the bench. Will Smallbone was not in the match squad.

Russell Martin: 'Change is going to happen'
Southampton manager Russell Martin has so far remained loyal to the players who helped Southampton secure promotion to the Premier League but after three straight defeats he says he is prepared to give further opportunities to new signings such as Cameron Archer, Matheus Fernandes, Maxwell Cornet and Ryan Fraser.
“You have to balance their loyalty and what they did last season with what some of the players are actually doing now and where they are at,” he said. “And also, given the level of players that have come into the squad, they will need a bit of time to adapt but we’ve got some really good players.
“It's the right thing to do for them to join the team. I think change is inevitable and people are going to get the opportunities they need.”

Deadline day signing Manuel Ugarte is expected to make his Manchester United debut today, replacing Casemiro who had a nightmare day against Liverpool, while summer signing Lenny Yolo remains absent with a foot injury, along with Tyrell Malasia, Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof.
Goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu and striker Kamaluddin Souleymana are Southampton's only confirmed absences, while Ross Stewart is close to full fitness and could be expected to be in today's squad – the Scottish striker has only played four times for Southampton since making the journey from Sunderland to the south coast 20 months ago.
