During this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) dismissed criticism of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report, calling it a political blow to President Joe Biden. He claimed that.
The Arkansas Republican said there was no “bombshell statement” but it showed double standards within the Biden administration.
FNC host Shannon Bream said, “Paul Krugman, who wrote about this for the New York Times, called this a hit-or-miss job for the special counsel, calling it cynical, unfounded, and clearly… It was filled with politically motivated slurs, he added. “He said he didn’t like it. Critics say he didn’t need nearly 400 pages to explain why he wouldn’t prosecute the president.”
“Shannon, look, this report makes clear that President Biden intentionally removed classified material and intentionally disclosed it to his own ghostwriter,” Cotton responded. “That’s clear. That’s exactly what Donald Trump was indicted for. The special counsel needs to explain why he won’t indict President Biden for a crime when President Trump faces the exact same charges.” And the explanation is that President Biden’s memory is failing not just now, but that he can no longer remember when he spoke to a ghostwriter seven years ago about whether his material was confidential. Thing.”
“Look, there’s no new bombshell in this about President Biden,” he continued. “For years, the American public has seen him as a man with memory problems. But what this report shows is that there is a blatant double standard. Joe Biden If Donald Trump will not be criminally charged, then neither should Donald Trump be. The reason he will be, not only in that documents case but in other cases, is because Joe Biden is a failure as president and the Democratic Party Because they know that the only way to prevent Donald Trump from being elected president this fall is to convict him. And put him in jail. It’s something you would expect to see in places like Pakistan and Brazil.”
