Special Roundtable with Marsha Blackburn: People Support Deportations

Americans Favor Deportation of Criminal Illegal Immigrants

During a recent discussion with the founders of the Breitbart Fight Club, Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) expressed that many Americans wish to see illegal immigrants, particularly those involved in crime, deported.

Blackburn responded to queries regarding Nashville’s Democratic Mayor Freddie O’Connell, who has been limiting the actions of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), asserting that such behavior shouldn’t be allowed. She emphasized the inappropriate nature of transforming ICE agents into mere documentation figures alongside law enforcement and other security personnel, advocating for a Justice Department investigation into the matter.

“The House is also looking into Homeland Security. Representative Mark Green, our Tennessee representative, is leading that investigation,” Blackburn stated, adding that Congressman Ogles has called for a similar inquiry with the House Judiciary Committee.

She expressed concerns that the mayor’s office is compromising the safety of investigators and agents, stating, “This is not safe.” Blackburn remarked on the risks posed not just to those working in enforcement but to their families as well, pointing out that cities like Nashville and Los Angeles are grappling with mayors who hinder efforts to apprehend illegal immigrants involved in criminal activities. “They are obstructing American safety,” she pointed out.

Residents, according to Blackburn, do not want increasing gang activity or crime in their neighborhoods; they desire a faster deportation process for those who disrupt community safety. She noted that many people, including those in Tennessee, share a desire for swifter deportation measures.

Referencing incidents in Los Angeles, Blackburn highlighted that some illegal immigrants are linked with criminal activities, making it harder to monitor crime in conjunction with law-abiding citizens. “It’s the same pattern whether in Tennessee or Los Angeles. We’re talking about individuals convicted of serious crimes, from rape and murder to drug and sex trafficking,” she explained. The Department of Homeland Security has verified that those apprehended in Los Angeles included individuals with such troubling criminal histories.

“There’s no one in the community advocating for these individuals to stay. They want to see them deported, and they want that to happen immediately,” Blackburn concluded.
