Spice Girls call off their reunion for the 30th anniversary.

The Spice Girls have, it seems, called off their much-anticipated performance. Their reunion, celebrating 30 years since the release of “Wannabe,” hasn’t panned out as hoped.

Victoria Beckham, Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown, Melanie ‘Mel C’ Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton reportedly had plans for a series of shows, but those plans fell through due to failure to come to an agreement.

Chisholm, who’s now 52, confirmed during an interview on “The Smallzy Show” that there will be no reunion this year. She mentioned that while July marks the big anniversary and the release of their first album, “Spice,” in a way, it’s still a significant time for the group, yet no reunion will take place.

But she didn’t completely shut the door on a future reunion. She said they’re in constant communication and remains optimistic about possibly coming together again—sometime down the line. It’s just unclear when that might be.

It’s worth noting that the Spice Girls officially split in 2000. Their most recent joint public appearance was during the 2012 London Olympics’ closing ceremony. Although Brown, Chisholm, Bunton, and Halliwell did tour in 2019, Beckham was notably absent. Rumors about a comeback started swirling after they all sang “Stop” together at Beckham’s 50th birthday. However, David Beckham quickly dispelled any notions of a reunion.

He mentioned that while Victoria enjoyed reconnecting with her former bandmates, they each have their own commitments and circumstances to consider. In any case, the group did recently gather for Bunton’s 50th birthday in January, which was a nice moment amidst all the uncertainty.
