Sorry, Spice Girls fans.
Geri Halliwell has allegedly dropped talks about a potential reunion tour due to unhappiness with bandmate Mel B, according to new reports.
Halliwell, also known as Ginger Spice, is said to be fed up with Scary Spice’s alleged “sarcasm and mockery” after months of a cooling in their relationship.
Furthermore, Halliwell’s decision to abandon any possibility of a reunion appears to stem, at least in part, from allegations of inappropriate behaviour made against her husband, Red Bull F1 team boss Christian Horner, by a female assistant who previously worked for him.
“Jerry has already dealt with enough relationship drama with her husband and his assistant – it’s been a tough time in itself – and he can no longer stand Mel and her little quips and sarcasm,” the source said. Daily Mail.
“She’s gone. Nothing happens without Geri. In the past she was the driving force behind the group but now she doesn’t want to even be associated with Mel, let alone share the stage with him.”
The source continued, “Their relationship has always been delicate but this has made it even more complicated and no one can keep it together and it’s all been ruined again.”
The report comes just a week after Mel B wished Halliwell a happy birthday on her Instagram Story. “Happy 75th Birthday, Zinzi,” the singer, whose real name is Melanie Brown, wrote alongside a photo of the pair, who are seen smoking a cigar in what appears to have been a photo taken in the 1990s.
Some have interpreted the birthday celebration as yet another satire from Brown, as he is celebrating Halliwell’s 75th birthday.
In April, the women were photographed by Victoria Beckham. 50th Birthday Party We even sang together in London.
However, one source solar“Mel tried to repair her relationship with Jerry at the party, but it didn’t go as planned.”
“She laughed it off but Jerry didn’t seem interested in listening to her and walked out,” the source added.
Mel B and Halliwell kept their distance during the iconic girl group’s photo shoot.
“Jerry was as far away from Mel as possible during group photos, which made it awkward to watch,” the source confessed. “Jerry wanted to be there to congratulate Victoria and have a laugh with everyone, not to talk about the embarrassing things Mel had said about her.”
The Washington Post has reached out to representatives for the Spice Girls, Halliwell and Mel B for comment.
