Gunshots rang out in what was believed to be an assassination attempt on Donald Trump on Saturday.

The former president was holding a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when several gunshots rang out and the Secret Service ordered the president to “lay down.”

Trump pumped his fist in the crowd before leaving the stage, and his campaign said he had gone to a medical facility and was “safe.”

Several big sports stars responded to the incident, condemning the act and showing their support for Trump.

UFC fighter Evan Elder also supported Trump after he won a fight just hours after the shooting.

A source told Fox News that the gunman was shot and killed by a Secret Service anti-sniper team.

“I was shot above my right ear,” Trump acknowledged.

“I can’t believe something like this happened in our country. We still don’t know anything about the perpetrator. He is deceased. I was shot above my right ear. I knew right away something was wrong as I heard a whoosh, a gunshot and felt the bullet penetrate my skin. I was bleeding heavily and realized what was going on. God Bless America!”
