FBI Raid on Election Center Involves DNI Tulsi Gabbard

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard was reportedly present during an FBI raid at an election center in Fulton County, Georgia. This comes as part of Gabbard’s ongoing investigation into election integrity.

According to DNI spokeswoman Olivia Coleman, “Secretary Gabbard understands that election security is vital for both our nation’s health and its national security. In her role as DNI, she’s tasked with identifying weaknesses in our critical infrastructure and safeguarding them.” Coleman emphasized that there’s well-documented intelligence suggesting that electronic voting systems are vulnerable to manipulation. She noted that President Trump has made it clear that securing elections is a priority, and Gabbard is acting within her authority to safeguard electoral integrity.

After months of looking into the 2020 presidential election, Gabbard faced an FBI raid aimed at gathering records related to that election. The warrant allowed agents to search physical ballots, voter rolls, and ballot images from that election year. This investigation touches on possible infringements of federal laws which bar the destruction of election records and fraudulent voting.

The FBI’s probe, related to an inquiry into possible election fraud, has drawn sharp criticism from Democrats. For instance, Senator Jon Ossoff labeled it an unprecedented use of government power for personal vendetta. Similarly, Senator Mark Warner characterized the FBI’s actions as a political stunt that undermines democracy.

Despite these Democratic outcries, federal law empowers the DNI to spearhead elections security efforts. This responsibility includes evaluating voting systems and guarding against foreign interference. Gabbard collaborates with various agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, to bolster election infrastructure.

Notably, Gabbard has been vocal about the need for enhanced election security since April. For instance, she mentioned that there is a pressing need to investigate vulnerabilities in electronic voting systems and has advocated for a switch to paper ballots to rebuild public trust. Recently, she has also hinted at plans to produce a comprehensive report on her findings.

In addition, during her tenure as DNI, Gabbard pointed out that foreign adversaries are growing adept at cyberattacks targeted at critical infrastructure, highlighting the timeliness of these investigations. She has expressed determination in pursuing transparency and accountability, asserting that the American public’s faith in elections is fundamental to the nation’s democracy.
