Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and other members of the far-left “Squad” are facing a class-action lawsuit for allegedly inciting and encouraging anti-Israel protests and campouts at Columbia University earlier this year.
The anonymous lawsuit, filed by five students, names Ocasio-Cortez as well as Democratic Reps. Jamaal Bowman of New York and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. The suit also names about a dozen anti-Israel organizations.
“The Gaza encampment was extreme and outrageous; it was illegal and in violation of university rules. Encampment residents harassed, followed, physically obstructed, intimidated and bullied Jewish students,” the lawsuit states.
Two of the five students who filed the lawsuit are Jewish. One of them, who gave his name only as Tim Doe, New York Post.

“During the protests we saw numerous offensive anti-Semitic signs and messages, including an anti-Semitic skunk poster featuring a Star of David,” he told the Post.

“Once, I was walking with some non-Jewish friends and attracted attention because I was wearing a yarmulke. A pro-Palestinian protest leader approached our group and confronted me. He focused on me, shouting that I needed to move and started shoving me when I refused,” he added.
The Columbia camp garnered international attention and involved students and faculty taking over the campus for several weeks.

The protests forced classes to move online and severely restricted access to campus buildings as students tried to study for final exams. Columbia, like other universities across the country, was ultimately forced to cancel its graduation ceremonies.

“The 36,000 Columbia students who chose to follow the university’s rules, attend classes, and pursue their education, only to be frustrated at the finish line by the actions of their classmates and professors, with the support and encouragement of outside activists, suffered real harm,” the lawsuit states.
