Honor was given after the 6-foot-9 junior went from Joel Soriano's backup to one of the nation's best big names.
Ejiofor led St. Johns to the best regular season in 25 years, winning their first Big East title since 1985.
The domestic offensive rebounder on 4.3 boards per game is averaging 14.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
Fan favorites also hit the buzzer barter, the two biggest shots of this magical season, with Providence and Marquette knocking down the road.
He is also Johnny's third defensive backbone in terms of efficiency.

Egiofor, a four-star recruit from Texas, began his career in Kansas.
After a season of limited playing time, he entered the transfer portal and chose St. John's in Villanova, TCU and San Diego.
He blossomed in Queen under Rick Pitino.
St. John's is another team when Ejiofor is in court.
According to the analytics website evanmiya.com, he has more than one point opposed to 100 possessions on the floor compared to when he is on the bench.
There could be more St. John's awards.
Pitino is scheduled to be named Big East Coach of the Year on Wednesday, and RJ Lewis is a strong contender to become St. John's first player of the year since Walterbury in 1986.
