Jimmy Kimmel Show’s Uncertain Future

In a recent interview, staff from Jimmy Kimmel’s show expressed skepticism about the possibility of its return. One staff member shared, “I think that’s what it is. But I really can’t see how it happens. Even if Jimmy publicly apologizes to the conservative group pushing for it and donates money… the MAGA crowd is never satisfied. It’s just never enough.”

The show was suspended on Wednesday following comments Kimmel made about a shooting game associated with Charlie Kirk. There’s speculation that Disney might find it more economical to replace Kimmel’s show with reruns of something like Modern Family or Judge Judy.

The staff indicated they weren’t entirely surprised by the show’s cancellation. They mentioned, “We figured the network executives wouldn’t have the guts to support their employees. So when it finally happened, we were kind of shocked, but in a way, you could see it coming.” Kimmel himself had remarked on his show about the controversy, noting the attempts to mischaracterize the incidents—or those involved—as something other than what they are.

When asked if critics of Kimmel’s were justified, the staff responded without hesitation: “I really don’t think they have a point. It’s like they’re waiting for a tiny mistake to pounce. That’s how they operate.”

They added that Kimmel has received considerable threats and attention from Trump supporters lately, making it clear that the environment around the show has become quite tense. While staff mentioned they enjoyed working at Kimmel’s show, it was evident they felt dismay towards Disney’s management. “It’s become increasingly obvious that executives at Disney and ABC would turn against us if they thought it might interfere with their bottom line or annual bonuses,” they lamented.

Disney has not yet responded to requests for comments regarding the situation.
