Noem’s Staff Cut as Scandals Unfold
Sources have indicated that at least three of Kristi Noem’s dedicated staff members were dismissed after they moved with her to a new position at the State Department, following her removal from the Department of Homeland Security.
The three former aides, True Hemenway, Josh King, and Octavian Miller, were immediately placed on paid leave after Noem was appointed as the American Shield envoy. Government insiders reported that their ousting was linked to Noem’s connection with Corey Lewandowski, a senior aide at Homeland Security, amid rumors of an affair and the chaos surrounding her exit.
“They didn’t want someone who might act as a connection for Lewandowski,” one source explained.
While Lewandowski was an unpaid special employee at DHS, he wielded considerable influence, often describing himself as Noem’s chief of staff.
Officials within the State Department seemed hesitant to revisit the tumultuous events of Noem’s time at DHS, which included her alleged affair with Lewandowski and a contentious $220 million advertising campaign.
Of the ten staffers who followed Noem to her new role, three reportedly received a message that they were not welcome, despite a willingness to cooperate a bit.
The remaining seven, who were more junior aides, retained their positions since they weren’t held accountable for the issues under Noem’s guidance.
The State Department has yet to respond to requests for comment.
Noem’s future in her new position aimed at tackling drug trafficking and organized crime might be uncertain. A senior official suggested that the role was initially intended to be a gentle transition for her.
“It looked like she wasn’t going to be let go soon,” a source remarked, adding that many believe her tenure there is likely short-lived.
Noem has reportedly been absent from the office as her political standing continues to decline. This comes in light of revelations about her husband leading a double life as a cross-dresser within a particular fetish community.
Recently, the Daily Mail published a series of humorous posts showcasing Byron Noem’s alter ego, including selfies that have drawn considerable attention.
Through a spokesperson, the former DHS secretary expressed her “devastation” regarding her husband’s involvement in the fetish scene, stating that her family felt completely blindsided by the unexpected news.
