‘Star Trek’ star Rebecca Romijn admits her kids are her toughest critics

Her show “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” may have been nominated for a Critics Choice Award, but actress Rebecca Romijn admits her harshest critics are closer to home.

“My kids. Definitely my kids,” she told Fox News Digital about the people who are the hardest to please. “And a lot of that has to do with the fact that they lost me on this show for a while. And they miss their mom sometimes.

“So I have to make sure I’m doing a great job so that when I get back, they’re impressed.”

Romijn has 15-year-old twin daughters Charlie and Dolly with husband Gerry O'Connell.

Romijn further elaborated on the challenges she faces as a working parent, saying she does both jobs with “a lot of guilt.”

“I feel a tremendous amount of guilt and heartache,” she said with a laugh. “Period, that's all I have to say about it. … Am I doing it? I don't know. I'm trying, I'm doing my best. I promise.”

Romijn's co-star Anson Mount added: “I have to say that's a refreshing answer in terms of what you usually hear.”

Romijn's daughters are not only dealing with their mother's busy schedule, but also with unfavorable stories about their mother's past. In October, Romijn's ex-husband John Stamos spoke out about Romijn's relationship with the “Femme Fatale” star, claiming Romijn dumped him when her career was great and his was in the doldrums. did.

Romijn finally broke his silence about his comments at the Critics' Choice Awards, admitting the headlines were unexpected.

“I was very surprised by it all. I was actually incredibly shocked,” she told “Entertainment Tonight.” “I felt blindsided by that. But you know, I don't want to help sell his book based on headlines like that. That’s all I want.”

“My wife's ex-husband recently wrote a biography that referred to her in a negative way, and many people asked me about it in the press,” he said. He spoke on an episode of the show “The Talk.” He is a co-host.

“I think we were both shocked that our show received so much love from the critics,” Romijn told FOX News Digital. “It's very special to be here because we're both lifelong fans. We were introduced to the original series by our moms when we were eight years old, so this is really a childhood experience for both of us. It was a dream come true when I was younger.”
