Star Wars video game launches at Las Vegas Sphere

Interactive Star Wars Experience at CES 2026

The Las Vegas skyline was transformed into a galaxy far, far away as Disney and Lucasfilm collaborated with LEGO to create an interactive Star Wars video game for the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

A massive LEGO Death Star illuminated the Sphere’s exosphere, casting beams of light and Star Wars imagery across the desert night.

Attendees, including some VIPs, found themselves seated inside a life-sized LEGO X-Wing cockpit outside the venue, where a live game based on the classic X-Wing and TIE fighter duel from the original 1977 film was projected in real-time on a 366-foot screen.

Jackson Dart, the New York Giants quarterback and a devoted Star Wars fan, joined in on the mock trench run, sharing that the experience made him feel “like a kid again.”

This impressive spectacle was created by Sphere Studio in partnership with LEGO and Disney to unveil the LEGO Smart Play System. This platform combines physical LEGO building with interactive digital elements.

Marcus Ellington, Sphere’s executive vice president of advertising sales and sponsorships, mentioned, “I think this is going to get people excited about LEGO as a product launch and about Sphere and the features we are introducing for the first time with Star Wars and LEGO.”

Mike Ilaqua, head of LEGO Star Wars products, noted, “Fundamentally, LEGO Smart Play is about curiosity, imagination, and pushing boundaries. These are also values we embody at Sphere, though on a different scale.”

Both Disney and Lucasfilm leaders highlighted that Star Wars was the ideal partner for this innovative launch. The event took place during CES, Las Vegas’ largest annual convention, where tech, entertainment, and consumer product companies display their latest innovations.

The activation quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of CES, cutting through a week typically filled with robots, AI demonstrations, and gadgets that often fade from memory shortly after.
