“‘I’m going home,’ he said directly to his wife Meredith. ‘I’m going home as soon as I can. Yes, I love you, and I’m going home. That’s it.’
Nantz pressed him further, asking him to reflect on what this important week meant to him.
“You’re going to make me cry,” Scheffler joked. “This is a very, very special time for both of us. I really can’t express what it means to win this tournament again. I really can’t describe what it’s like to be a father for the first time. “No,” he continued.
“So, I’m looking forward to getting home and celebrating with Meredith. It’s been a long week here without her,” he concluded.
Well, Scotty, you can finally go home and make it as champion. Have a tough week, son.
