Starling Marte remains intriguing trade option for AL contender

The Royals pushed to try and acquire Sterling Marte in the winter, but while Kansas City wanted to give up less arms, they couldn't find an agreement with the Mets, who were interested in rescuers such as Hunter Harvey and Angel Zelpa.

However, Kansas City has not completely wiped out this possibility. The Royals wanted to get a veteran bat that could reach fifth in the lineup and were willing to expand their pay with a three-year offer to Anthony Santander, who signed with Toronto.

They also looked into free agent Jurikson Prophor (who went to Atlanta) and attempted to trade Taylor Ward for the Angels. So, this hasn't been resolved yet, so Kansas City has been playing in the spring (knee) and hasn't completely closed Marte's door, which was essentially reducing the Mets' role to the correct part of the DH platoon.

With a desire to use the finances offered elsewhere, the Rangers didn't spend much on the bullpen, among other things, signed by Chris Martin and signed with left-handed Robert Garcia. Therefore, the set is not approaching and cannot be named. And while they liked how David Robertson pitched for them in 2024, the Rangers have no plans to chase free agents.
