Starmer Lauds Trump for Creating Peace Opportunity in Russia-Ukraine War

WASHINGTON – British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer praised President Donald Trump for creating opportunities for peace deals in the Russian-Ukraine war.

Starmer praised Trump at a joint press conference in the East Room on Thursday at the White House.

“We are still in line today. We are focused on bringing a lasting end to the wild war in Ukraine. President, I welcome your deep, personal commitment to bringing peace and stopping murder,” he said.

“You created a moment of incredible opportunity to reach a historic peace agreement. A deal that we think will be celebrated in Ukraine and around the world. That's the award, but we have to get it right,” the star added.

He also said, “History must be on the side of the peace overseer, not the invaders.”

Trump's opening remarks at the press conference I said A reporter who updated his priorities on his administration's efforts to end the war.

“We're working so hard to end that war,” he told reporters. “I think we've made a lot of progress. I think it's going pretty quickly. I want to thank all the people here.”

The meeting between the leaders is the day before Ukrainian President Voldimir Zelenksy finalizes the rare earth mineral trade, which has been reportedly not to include explicit future security guarantees to meet Trump in the White House.

As Breitbart News pointed out, Zelensky left Ireland for Andrews' joint base ahead of Friday's meeting.

“We sign a historic agreement, and sign oil and gas, that will make the United States a major partner in the development of Ukraine minerals and rare earths.

He said the deal would be beneficial to both countries.

“But that's really, really good for Ukraine and very good for us,” he added. “American taxpayers are effectively refunded as hundreds of billions of dollars have been poured into helping Ukraine itself protect themselves. That's in itself a very valuable thing.”
