Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers showed a tough love side to his fans during the American Century Championship Celebrity golf tournament over the weekend.
A video circulating on social media on Sunday captured Rodgers approaching the next hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Nevada, where he jokingly yelled that he had been attacked.
“It’s hardly counted,” Rodgers remarked as he walked towards the tee box.
This was just one of a couple of notable moments during the tournament, as the four-time NFL MVP engaged with fans. On Saturday, he declined to sign an autograph after playfully questioning a man about a touchdown pass he threw while backing up Brett Favre for the Green Bay Packers back in 2005. Some fans had claimed to have tickets from that game.
When asked to name the player he threw that pass to, the man couldn’t give a name. In response, Rodgers refused to sign anything, labeling him a “signhound.”
Rodgers finished the tournament in 15th place with a Stableford score of 44.
Former NHL star Joe Pavelski took home the win with a score of 73, edging out Baseball Hall of Famer John Smoltz.
Looking ahead, Rodgers is now focusing on training camp, marking his first year with the Steelers.
