Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers dealing with 'at least three fractures' in his wrist

Aaron Rodgers is set to play this Sunday despite being listed with a “left wrist” injury on the Steelers’ report.

However, it turns out that particular wrist has several fractures.

Rodgers is anticipated to take the field with “at least three fractures” in his non-throwing wrist. Tests indicated that surgery isn’t necessary, so he’ll be starting in the Bills’ game against the Steelers, a matchup that might impact playoff positions.

The former Jets quarterback missed a game and a half after suffering a broken bone late in the second quarter against the Bengals in Week 11. He sat out the second half of that game and had limited participation in practice leading up to last Sunday’s game in Chicago.

Ultimately, he couldn’t play and watched as Mason Rudolph led the offense to a defeat against the Bears.

This week, he didn’t practice on Wednesday, but he managed full sessions on both Thursday and Friday.

Coach Mike Tomlin shared with reporters, “He played the full game today without being drafted into the game. That means all systems are working properly.”

As for the Steelers, they’re navigating a crucial stretch after Baltimore’s recent loss, which has given Pittsburgh a slight edge in the division standings. They’ll be aiming for a win against the Ravens, who they’ll face again next week and in Week 18.

For the Steelers to gain momentum, they certainly need Rodgers to perform at his best.

In what is his 21st NFL season, this 41-year-old quarterback has recorded his highest passer rating (97.7) since 2021, completing 66.4 percent of his passes, totaling 1,969 yards, with 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
