Harvard University President Claudine Gay has resigned under pressure that has increased since Gay's response to a question from House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) sparked widespread outrage in December. I finally gave in.
Stefanik's shocking interrogation comes after Gay came under widespread criticism for the university's response to the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, and after more than 30 members of the university's student body accused their country of attacks on Israel. This comes after he signed a pro-terrorism statement condemning terrorism.
Gay resigned after just six months, making him the shortest-serving president in Harvard's long history.
Stefanik told Breitbart News and was later published in X. “Harvard University knows that this long-awaited forced resignation of its anti-Semitic plagiarism president is only the beginning of the biggest scandal in the university's history.”
🚨🚨🚨
Two down. @Harvard University We know that this long-awaited forced resignation of the anti-Semitic plagiarist president is only the beginning of what will be the biggest scandal in university history.https://t.co/ZJLxrHw1Zd

During the hearing, Gay, University of Pennsylvania President Liz McGill, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology President Sally Kornbluth refused to tell Stefanik whether it was permissible to advocate the genocide of Jews on campus. is infamous.

This exchange exploded both online and on TV. A few days later, McGill resigned. Kornbluth continues to face calls for his own resignation, but remains in office for now.
Gaye's damning testimony, coupled with her abysmal history, prompted a deeper look into her background and resume, uncovering numerous instances of plagiarism.
These suspicions continued to grow as further plagiarism allegations were exposed. But Gay persisted as her university continued to support her.
Stefanik, himself a Harvard graduate, has called on the university to further resign over the scandal. She accused Harvard University trustees of covering up gay men's crimes after resisting calls to fire them.
stay tuned. @Harvard University Resignation of company directors must occur in the near future.
With incredible arrogance and brashness, they are colluding in the cover-up of this massive scandal, causing irreparable damage. @Harvard Universityacademic integrity and moral leadership.

In his resignation letter, Gay blamed his decision on “personal attacks and intimidation fueled by racial animus.” She did not discuss her own track record as a leader or the multiple plagiarism allegations that led to her assumption of office.
“As I recall my short Presidency, I am reminded of the importance of striving to find our common humanity and of not allowing hostility and contempt to undermine the vital process of education. I hope it can be seen as a moment in time,” she wrote.
Even though Gaye's academic and professional record has been tarnished by plagiarism allegations, Gaye's letter indicated that she would remain on Harvard's faculty.
Harvard's statement regarding Gay's resignation did not mention her plagiarism allegations (or failure to detect plagiarism during the hiring process), but did discuss her management during the COVID-19 pandemic. He acknowledged that responsibility was a factor in her initial hiring and praised her “amazing accomplishments.” It is resilience in the face of sustained attacks that are very personal. ”
“Some of it has unfolded in public, but much of it has taken the form of offensive and, in some cases, racist vitriol directed at her.”
In promoting Gay's resignation, Stefanik pointed out that the video of her line of questioning during the hearing was the most-watched congressional testimony in Congressional history and exposed “corruption” in higher education institutions. I promised to keep doing it.
We will definitely deliver results. The resignation of Harvard University's anti-Semitic plagiarist president has been long overdue. Claudine Gay's morally bankrupt answer to my question went down in history as the most-watched Congressional testimony in U.S. Congress history. Her answer is…

“Our robust Congressional investigations will continue to move forward to expose corruption at our most ‘prestigious’ higher education institutions and hold them accountable to the American people,” she wrote.
