Stellan Skarsgård Discusses Challenges Faced by His Son

Stellan Skarsgård has opened up about a troubling aspect of his son’s life.

The 74-year-old Swedish actor shared how the term “nepo baby” impacts his 13-year-old son, Kolbjorn, at school.

In a conversation, he revealed that Kolbjorn feels “very sad” and has become quite isolated due to taunting from classmates.

“My youngest son, Kolbjorn, suffers because of it. When his peers call him ‘Nepobaby,’ he feels incredibly sad. He has no friends at school and becomes isolated. It’s cruel, those kids can be so ignorant,” Skarsgård stated.

Currently, Kolbjorn is acting in the horror series *Bloodcruise*.

Skarsgård also expressed his thoughts on the concept of “nepobaby.” He remarked, “They enjoy the Internet, but that’s a double-edged sword. If you’re not good enough, well, good luck getting hired, especially for decent roles.”

On a brighter note, Skarsgård has a talented family. He was first married to Mai Skarsgård in 1975, and they had six children: Alexander, Gustav, Sam, Bill, Aja, and Walter. They separated in 2007, and he later married Megan Everett in 2009, with whom he has two sons, Ossian and Kolbjorn.

Alexander, 49, has been featured in notable works like *The Legend of Tarzan*, *Big Little Lies*, and the series *Murderbots* on Apple TV+. Gustav, 44, who acted in *Vikings*, mentioned on Swedish TV, “We’re different ages and types, which helps minimize competition for roles. We can even laugh about it.”

“At the end of the day, we really just want to have fun in this industry,” he added. “We’re a close-knit family that consistently supports one another.”

Reflecting on his children’s achievements, Skarsgård mentioned, “I had two incredible wives and a very smart partner, which certainly helped. I won’t take credit for it all.”

In his chat, Skarsgård also touched on his health, revealing that he suffered a severe stroke three years ago and has since worked hard to get back on track. “It’s changed my perspective on life,” he noted.

“I feel like I’m living under a constant threat,” he explained. “At 74, I’ve lived a wild life and now I’m working overtime.” He added, “I’m not afraid of dying, but I fear not living fully. That’s daunting.”

When considering his roles as a father, Skarsgård shared a palpable concern. “With eight children, there’s always one fear that crosses my mind every time I have a new child,” he said. “It’s not about conditions like Down syndrome or autism. Thankfully, none of us faced those challenges,” he concluded.
