Ayesha Curry, wife of Warriors star and U.S. Olympic team hero Stephen Curry, appeared to be in tears after a tense encounter with French police at an undisclosed location in Paris as she tried to return to her car following Saturday’s gold medal game. According to a video posted to YouTube by Hollywood Fix:.
During the roughly three-minute encounter, Curry’s mother, Sonia Curry, and Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green also spoke with officers while Ayesha held the couple’s youngest child, Kyius, while another child, believed to be Curry’s eldest son, Cannon, walked with a flag draped over his shoulder.
“You know, they won’t let us go back to where we came from,” Sonia told the officers, pointing away from the camera. “They won’t let our driver come here, and they won’t let us go back there.”
“The president is passing by, so no one should cross the road until he has passed,” one of the men translating between Sonia and the police in the video said.
French President Emmanuel Macron was also watching the match between the United States and France and may have been planning to leave the arena.
And as the exchange continued, at one point Green accused the officers of hitting the baby.
“So even after you hit your baby over the head there’s nothing you can do to get him out of here?” Green asked.
It is unclear which officer Green accused of hitting the baby or when contact occurred during the altercation.
The video stops after three minutes, leaving it unclear how long the argument lasted, or how much time passed before and after the video began.
Curry’s family and Green were all in attendance to watch Saturday’s gold medal game, where Team USA defeated France 98-87 thanks to Curry’s 24 points, including four 3-pointers in the final three minutes.

“I’ve seen that from Steph a few times, and I never get tired of it,” U.S. national team and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters after the game. “This is a global sport, and there are a lot of great players, but I still feel like we have the best players. They all were very unselfish throughout this game, through all the noise and pressure. We might be the only team in the world that can be embarrassed by our fans if we win a silver medal. That’s the pressure we face.”
“But our players, and you saw Steph, love the pressure. They appreciated the atmosphere and they played great.”
Aisha and Curry married in 2011 and have four children together since announcing the birth of their son Kaius at the end of May.
