Stephen A. Smith Challenges, Trump, Vance, and Hegseth to Debate DEI Cuts

Stephen A. Smith challenged President Trump, Vice President Vance and Secretary of Defense to debate on Day Policy after an article about colourvarie MLB legend Jackie Robinson was removed from the defense division's website.

Thursday edition of his ESPN show Take it firstSmith takes Heggs on missions, after the Department of Defense (DOD) deleted an article about Robinson's military service from its website. Articles about Robinson were not targeted by DOD. Instead, it was one of several scrubs as part of an effort to purge diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) content from government websites.

The article was restored once criticism of the move reached DOD officials.

This did not appease Smith. After spending a considerable amount of time blowing up the administration, Smith challenged Trump, Vance and Heggs to protect the government's actions.

“As with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, like the Rooney Rules of the National Football League, and as with the likes of positive behavior, do you try to escape by highlighting why it should exist in the first place?” Smith said. “It was because of the injustice of the people of the United States. It is a white force structure that exists mostly. It is a fact. Throughout history, it is known to be true.

Smith closed the screed on a challenge.

“President Trump, I'm happy to be able to sit with you and have that conversation,” Smith continued. “I want you to protect it. Vice President Vance, you too. Pete Hegses, you too. Stephen A. Smith is calling you on national television. I'm going to roll the camera and sit and try to protect this. That's ridiculous.”
